JGD / CAR WASH PIT CLEANING & PUMPING

Car-wash pit pumping & cleanout.

Car-wash pits collect sand, grit and wash residue. Tell us how many pits need cleaning, their approximate size, when they were last serviced and whether a bay needs to be taken out of use.

APPLICATIONS

Where this service
fits the work.

Different sites call for different access, equipment planning and responsibilities. These are common starting points—not a claim that every job includes the same work.

Wash-bay pits

Define the pit dimensions and accumulated grit or sediment so pumping and cleaning can be scoped together.

Planned maintenance

Coordinate the work window with wash operations, bay access and the previous maintenance history.

Collection-area cleanout

Identify the pit and connected system. Cleaning the collection area and cleaning the outlet pipe are separate tasks.

DIFFERENT WORK / DIFFERENT EQUIPMENT

Pit pumping.
Jetting. Inspection.

01 / COLLECTION

Pit pumping

Removes accumulated wash residue and settled solids from the pit or sump. Describe how many structures need attention.

02 / PIPE CLEANING

Drain jetting

Addresses deposits in the connected pipe. Request line cleaning separately when the work goes beyond the collection pit.

03 / DIAGNOSIS

CCTV inspection

Investigates a pipe's internal condition. It is not automatically part of a pit cleanout or line jetting job.

THE WORK / EXPLAINED

When grit and sludge are taking over a wash system.

Car-wash collection pits and sumps retain sand, grit and wash residue. A useful cleanout request identifies the structure and its contents, not just a blocked drain.

Signs worth discussing

  • Sludge or grit levels have accumulated in a pit or sediment interceptor.
  • A wash bay or trench drain is draining slowly and the collection system may need attention.
  • An operator is planning maintenance or reviewing required cleanout records.

How the work is assessed

Pit cleaning addresses material collected in a below-grade structure. Trench or sewer-line jetting is a different task. The pit count, accessibility, sludge level and work window determine what needs assessing.

Where the scope ends

Maintenance intervals and recordkeeping requirements depend on the facility and local sewer rules. Waste classification, hauling permissions and final disposal arrangements must be confirmed for the specific job; this page does not certify them.

QUESTIONS FOR YOUR SITE

Get the right scope from the start.

  1. How many pits, sumps or interceptors need attention and how are they accessed?
  2. What has previously been removed, and what does the facility call the equipment?
  3. Will cleaning affect active wash bays, and what records or disposal arrangements are required?
